We are so excited to announce the donation of $80,000.00 to the High River Pump Track project by the Town of High River!

This incredible contribution, along with the steadfast and ongoing support of Mayor Craig Snodgrass and the High River Town Council, means that the High River Pump Track has reached approximately 90% of its planned financing, and will hopefully begin construction in early 2022.

The $80,000 donation, which represents one-third of the entire project budget, is comprised in part by the fees paid by the post-apocalyptic HBO production, The Last of Us, that shot in High River in 2021. Primary financial support to date has been provided by Cargill with a $75,000 contribution in 2020, along with additional funding from fundraisers and contributions by our local residents.

For pump track President Jeff Hamilton, this donation reflects a shared vision for our community. “On behalf of the High River Bike Park Society, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Town of High River for not only this donation, but for all of the time and effort they have given to the pump track project. Everyone who has volunteered and contributed to the realization of this project over the past four years has shown a tremendous amount of belief in not only this facility, but in the promotion of health and outdoor play for the youth of High River as well.

The High River Bike Park Society is a team of local volunteers dedicated to bringing a world-class pump track to our town through a combination of corporate and community-driven grassroots fundraising. The society is in talks with Velosolutions, an innovative and industry-leading global company that has installed professional tracks around the world.
