“One of the most important days of my life was when I learned to ride a bicycle.” - Michael Palin
It’s a universal feeling; the exhilaration of pushing off and trusting in physics to hold this two-wheeled contraption that, by rights, shouldn’t even work.
For most of us, especially those who grew up in the BMX generation of the 1970s-1990s, our first bike was our first taste of freedom. Standing on the pedals and gripping the handlebars the world became a place to be explored - and conquered. With every ride you gained confidence and, more importantly, speed.
But the world has become faster as well. Traffic-free places for riders to develop and perfect these skills can be difficult to come by. As parents, we understand that riders need a facility where they can learn and challenge themselves in a safe, controlled environment.
The High River Pump Track will be an accessible, family-friendly facility that will give riders of all ages the chance to discover (or re-discover) this passion.
