What is a Pump Track?
Pump Tracks derive their name from the unique way the riders propel their bikes over the bumps, or ‘rollers’, by shifting their body weight rather than by pedalling, thereby maintaining momentum over the entire circumference of the course. There is a staging and launching area but the track itself is a closed-loop, so the ride never has to end – and neither does the fun!
Pump Tracks were initially designed with the BMX rider in mind, but almost anything with wheels will do! Mountain bikes, skateboards, scooters, even rollerblades!
